A focused space for deeper healing from trauma

Intensive counselling and psychotherapy for people living with the effects of trauma — in a consulting room, not on a screen.

Intensive EMDR therapy

Sometimes weekly therapy is not enough

When you are living with the effects of trauma, complex emotional patterns, or a sense of being stuck no matter how much work you have done, longer sessions over consecutive days can give the work the time it needs.

Intensive Counselling & Psychotherapy offers a safe, supportive space to begin making sense of the experiences that may still shape how you feel, think, and relate to others. Whether you are carrying early attachment wounds, the impact of a single traumatic event, or a more complex trauma history, therapy can help you process what has happened — and begin to release the emotional charge still held in the mind and body.

I work in a trauma-focused and relational way, drawing on psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS Level 1). Together we might explore how early relationships influenced your sense of self, gently process stuck or overwhelming memories, and build a more compassionate relationship with the parts of you that have had to cope in ways that once made sense.

Healing does not mean forgetting the past. It means finding new ways to live with it — and beyond it — with greater clarity, connection, and self-trust.

Areas of work

Helping people suffering from trauma

I specialise in trauma-related work, including:

Post-traumatic stress (PTSD)

Helping you process the emotional and physical impact of traumatic events — whether recent or long past — so that they no longer dominate day-to-day life.

Complex PTSD (C-PTSD)

Supporting those who have experienced ongoing or repeated trauma, often in early life or within relationships, where safety, trust, and identity were affected.

Attachment trauma

Exploring how early relational wounds — such as neglect, inconsistency, or emotional unavailability — may continue to shape how you relate to yourself and others.

Abuse

A safe space to begin working through the deep and often complex effects of emotional, sexual, or physical abuse, at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your boundaries.

Single-event trauma

Helping you process and release the lasting emotional charge from one-off events such as accidents, medical procedures, assaults, or sudden losses.

Qualifications

Over twenty years in practice

I qualified in 2003 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Westminster Pastoral Foundation. EMDR is now a central part of my intensive work. I am trained in Internal Family Systems to Level 1.

I am a Senior Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), a registered member of the British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision (BAPPS), and a member of EMDR UK & Ireland.

I now work exclusively with an intensive model for clients, alongside clinical supervision for fellow practitioners — all in person in Henleaze.

What happens first

Therapy begins with a thorough in-person assessment so we can understand your needs, prepare carefully, and see whether intensive work is the right fit. The assessment is charged separately from the intensive programme.

Supervisors-in-practice are welcome to arrange a free 20-minute face-to-face meet and greet in the room.
